This interactive teacher software is a part of The Interactive Pintar Math Toolbox which allows pupils to easily visualize and interact with different measurement devices. The software allows the teacher and students to measure and weigh objects accurately and convert for example, centimetres to inches and pounds to kilograms. This software tool can be used together with an interactive whiteboard to help engage students in a fun way of learning.

Student Information Systems Software

Student Information Systems are software systems which are networked to help educators keep track of student, class, and school data to maintain records and support decision making (Roblyer, 2006).

Some benefits of using the systems are:
  • Maintain records on students' demographic data
  • Track and report attendance
  • Track and report test scores
  • Easy registration of students for classes online or offline
  • Notification purposes

As some schools within Trinidad and Tobago become modernized, they see the relevance of utilizing these systems software. Therefore, as teachers we ought to make ourselves familiar with computer technology in education.

Smart Boards in the Classroom

The interactive nature of the Smart Board provides many practical uses for the classroom. Information is displayed through text, sound, video, and illustrations; allowing teachers to appeal to different intelligences.

Research suggests that the direct interaction with a touch-sensitive display makes use of natural, intuitive movements which allows students as young as preschoolers to easily use the Smart Board. The size of the display screen has been shown to assist education of visually impaired students while the addition of a classroom amplification system has been proven to benefit those students with hearing problems.

I believe that this educational software is outstanding and would benefit any teacher looking for a dynamic way to deliver their lessons through the latest technology.

The Story Reader Video Plus

Apart from reading stories, the Story Reader is used to play interactive, educational games. It teaches children from ages three to seven Reading, Spelling, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Problem Solving, Comprehension, Counting, Colours, Shapes, and Opposites.

The Story Reader can be used alone, making it portable or it can read stories aloud on the television.

My daughter also uses this reader and I found that the colourful characters really holds her attention. She is able to identify new words as they are highlighted on the television screen and play the interactive games at the end of each story. I would recommend this Story Reader to any parent looking for an enhancement in their child's literacy skills.

THE I.B.G. PHONIC PROGRAMME

I bought the I.B.G. Phonic Programme for my daughter Melony when she was approaching the age of two. She is now three years old and can identify all twenty-six letters of the alphabet and the sound of each letter thanks to this Programme. The I.B.G. Phonic Programme helps to stimulate literacy skills in the young and help built the self-esteem of older students and adults. This Phonic Programme is very enjoyable and exciting because of the interesting musical accompaniment. Melony enjoys it so much that she would most times listen to the CDs all on her own. What I really like about this programme though is that apart from the CDs, there are charts to go along with them which appeals to both the visual and audio learner.

Great reading, spelling, and vocabulary development are just few of the benefits which are gained through using the I.B.G. Phonic Programme. It can also be used as an aid to students with learning disabilities like Attention Deficiency Disorder. Anyone, including teachers and parents will be able to work with this educational software to help their children develop their literacy skills.

I am extremely satisfied with this product and Melony's present literacy level and with my continued help, I know that she will advance well.
